A dark Munin "theme"

September 22nd 2013 by Jason Ormand (aka okor)

Update: I’ve created a simple Chrome extension so you don’t have to make any changes on your Munin install/s. Check it out: Munin dark theme Chrome extension

Munin is a cool tool but I always thought the UI/charts should be dark. So I created a little css snippet that can be prepended to the current Munin install style sheet. Nothing fancy, but here it is.

img { -webkit-filter: invert(1) !important; }
div.logo { -webkit-filter: invert(1) !important; background-color: white !important;}
* { background-color: black !important; }
*:not(a) { color: white !important; border: none !important; }
a { color: #4dfb45 !important; border: none !important; font-weight: normal !important; }

If you’re using Ubuntu 12.04 and the default install location for Munin, the stylesheet should be at /var/www/munin/style.css. The snippet may work with later versions but I’ve only tested it with Munin 1.4.5/6.

Here are some examples of what the graphs look like, before and after.
